It is important for those in charge of project management that they are aware of how they convey the work authorization to their employees. In order to ensure that spoken words are not misinterpreted, project management usually type out the directions for a task they are permitting their employees to begin working on. This task can be anything which might need to be accomplished such as a control account or package of work to complete. By providing workers with a written work authorization, those in project management can be assured that their wish to have the job done by the right people, at the correct time, and in the right order.

Project management needs to be cautious to write out the exact steps on the work authorization. This prevents misunderstandings and mistakes along the line. To have the work done correctly the first time, the manager must have good communication skills with his workers, both in the writing of the authorization and in answering any questions which might arise. Proper direction given to employees in the work permitting directive will ensure that the task is completed in the expected manner.
