Scheduling your Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® exam is a crucial step toward certification. As of 2024, the Project Management Institute (PMI) administers these exams through Pearson VUE testing centers, including a location in Bangkok’s BB Building. This guide outlines the process for scheduling your exam after receiving PMI approval.

1. Ensure Eligibility

Before scheduling, confirm that you meet PMI’s eligibility criteria:

  • PMP Requirements:
    • A four-year degree, 36 months leading projects, and 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM certification.
    • Alternatively, a high school diploma or associate degree, 60 months leading projects, and 35 hours of project management education/training or CAPM certification.
  • CAPM Requirements:
    • A high school diploma or global equivalent and 23 hours of project management education.

Detailed eligibility requirements are available on PMI’s official website.

2. Submit Your Application

Create an account on PMI’s website and complete the application form, detailing your educational background and project management experience. After submission, PMI will review your application, which may take several days. If selected for an audit, you’ll need to provide additional documentation.

3. Receive Approval and Exam Fee Payment

Upon application approval, PMI will notify you to pay the exam fee:

  • PMP Exam Fees: $405 for PMI members; $575 for non-members.
  • CAPM Exam Fees: $225 for PMI members; $300 for non-members.

Payment can be made through your PMI account.

4. Schedule Your Exam

After payment, you can schedule your exam via PMI’s website:

  • Log in to your PMI account and navigate to “Review Application Status” under myPMI.
  • Click “Schedule Exam” to be directed to Pearson VUE’s scheduling system.
  • Choose your preferred exam delivery method:
    • Center-Based Test (CBT): Select a test center location, date, and time.
    • Online Proctored Test: Choose a suitable date and time for the online exam.

Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your appointment.
