One of the most important aspects of project management is quality control. It involves monitoring specific results of the project in order to determine if they comply with the established quality management systems (QMS). It is also necessary to identify ways in removing things may cause unsatisfactory results.

Performing an audit is one part of quality control. Quality control auditors select different types of sampling to test quality and one of the methods is doing attribute sampling. Attribute sampling measures whether the results conform to the established specifications. It is used to test if the internal controls are working properly.

Attribute sampling often defines what will be measured for the quality control. It is based on the experiences of sample failures in the past as well as customer feedback. This means that the quality inspector checks the sample against the set criteria of quality.

It is used to inspect the attribute of the project or product such as the color, size and packing for instance. The attribute is then measured by “yes” or “no” thus the data is often recorded as a checklist sheet. The advantage of this project management method is that it is less expensive and record keeping is simplified.
