Project Scope Management

The Project Scope Management is on of the many elements necessary in project management. It includes all the processes required to ensure that the project comes with all the necessary work required (as well as only the work needed) in order to successfully complete the project. It is also involved in managing the scope of the project by controlling as well as defining what are not included.

The Project Scope Management encompasses different types of processes, which include the Plan Scope Management, Collect Requirements, Define Scope, Create Work Breakdown Structure, validate Scope and Control Scope. All of these processes interact with one another to manage the project scope.

The processes, tools and techniques used to manage the project scope can vary depending on the nature of the project. In the context of the project, there are two types of definition for scope – product scope and project scope. The product scope includes the functions and features of the deliverable while the project scope is the work done to deliver the deliverables.

Thus, the project scope management ensures that all the project management scope is properly managed to ensure the objectives are met.
